Environment Day 2018

Each year, World Environment Day is observed by the United Nations across the globe to raise awareness about the importance of environment in our lives. It is a time to reflect on the initiatives taken to make the world a better and safer place to live in and also the challenges that we face in today’s world.

On 5th June 2018, the students of National Public School, Banashankari, celebrated World Environment Day with fervour. The event began with a melodious rendition of ”¬† Suma sundara taru lathaegala” by the school choir, followed by a speech about the significance of World Environment Day. The students and faculty of the school stood together and pledged to be responsible and sensitive towards the environment. The students then went on to plant their saplings of flowering plants and experienced the true spirit of Environment Day. School management gifted a take home planting kit to every child. As a wise man once said, “We shouldn’t just protect the environment – we should create a world where the environment doesn’t need protecting.”
