World Environment Day

World Environment Day is observed by the United Nations across the globe to raise awareness about the importance of environment in our lives. Every year it’s a time to reflect on the initiatives taken to make the world a better and safer place to live in and also the challenges that we face in today’s world.

The students of National Public School, Banashankari, celebrated World Environment Day with great fervor and gaiety. The event began with a speech about the significance of World Environment Day. This was followed by rendition of the song “I’m the Earth”. Bhumika and Snigdha of Grade 10 were the quiz masters for the day. They came up with interesting as well as relevant questions about the environment. The students enthusiastically answered their questions. A mesmerizing dance-drama on the importance of saving trees was beautifully enacted by the students of Grade 8. The students and faculty of the school stood together and pledged to be responsible and sensitive towards mother earth.
As a wise man once said, “We shouldn’t just protect the environment – we should create a world where the environment doesn’t need protecting.”
